Flashes & Strokes: a Tale of Two Mediums

The digital and traditional arts are thriving in Dallas. From newer, technology based media like photography and digital art to more traditional art, there is so much to see, explore and learn from in the DFW area.  Through our Flashes and Strokes series, we’d like to celebrate artists from both worlds: traditional and digital.

#Throwback to visiting this year’s Dallas Artfair! In its 10th edition, this fair saw a prominent assortment of public installations on display and intimate tours of private collections. Highlights include the private tour of Marguerite Hoffman’s collection, which is home to work by Cy Twombly, Jasper Johns, and Mark Rothko; and a visit to the museums. We visited the Museum of Arts – the Nasher sculpture gallery and garden, and Fort Worth with the Kimbell museum and the Modern Art Museum –– without forgetting a refreshing pause at the famous Water Gardens designed by Philip Johnson and John Burgee. Then spent few days in a ranch close by Fort Worth offering some exciting landscape design possibilities…and a great way to learn more about the native vegetation. * * * * #dallas #dallasartfair #2018 #margueritehoffman #cytwombly #jasperjohns #nashersculpturecenter #fortworth #kimbellartmuseum #watergardens
