Vanessa, it’s an honor to have you join us again and we’re excited to chat about self care this time, but before we dive into that maybe you can briefly introduce yourself to any of our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations.
I’m Vanessa Woods-White the owner of Divine Perfection Body Care and consider myself a total self care enthusiast! I started this brand initially for all of the busy moms that had a challenge finding the time to have “me time”. Over the last 7 years it has evolved to a lifestyle brand that also includes body care men and other items that can easily add to your self care lifestyle. All of our body care products are handcrafted, vegan, paraben free, and cruelty free. We strive to keep our products affordable, yet of the highest quality.
We know that many small businesses have had to operate differently since the pandemic, how have you stayed motivated?
Staying motivated was a challenge initially, but what turned it around for me was my customers. I began to play close attention to their needs and what had changed in their lives. Reaching out to my community via email and using social media to engage with them kept me going. This gave us all a sense of optimism and hope, despite what we all are facing with the pandemic.
Since we last talked, what are some recent things that have been going on in your business?
So much has been going on! Well, we’ve launched several new products from apparel to drinkware and more. During this time in the pandemic we have really made it a point to be in tune with what people need and how we can help them navigate through it all the while incorporating their self care. And because we are unable to attend in-person events like we did in the past, we are doing more “virtual” pop-up shops to keep our customers updated on our offerings and news. Lastly, the pandemic has really opened our eyes to so much! We now offer products like plant-based hand sanitizer, face masks and social distancing t-shirts. Self care is more important than ever in these times! Lastly, we have also built relationships with other local business here in the DFW. Working together to swap ideas and offer support to one another has been amazing!
It’s crucial that we support local and small businesses during this unprecedented times.
We know that you believe that self care is more than your normal bubble bath, what are other ways you connect with your clients or customers to remind them that it’s a lifestyle?
Yes, it is definitely more than a bubble bath! For us, it’s not just about the products. We also share in depth self care information & tips to our customers through email and our blogs which can be found in our online store. You’ll also find product demonstrations on our social media pages which are always fun to do.
