Check out Destiny Washington

Today we’d like to introduce you to Destiny Washington.

Destiny, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I have been acting for about 15 years with my start in theatre. Throughout that time span, I’ve been working a 9 to 5 never really putting my all into pursuing my craft but, saving it for nights and weekends. I would attend acting classes and workshops, perform on stage but, still never giving it my all. Then in October of 2018, I sat down and thought about my life and that I have these big dreams but, never gave it my all. So, on March 5, 2019, this single mother left her job at a luxury travel magazine to pursue my goal of being a working actress. Knowing that I still had to provide, I took my love for helping other actors and audition- taping skills and turned them into a business and TAPED was born. TAPED was an idea I had been sitting on for years and only considered turning it into a business after I seriously considered leaving my job. Now, we are here TAPED is Dallas’ new self- tape studio that is helping Dallas talent submit quality audition-tapes and I’m now a working actress! Go- figure.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I service actors by providing quality audition-taping services. Our goal is to give actors a comfortable environment to let their creative juices flow and be confident in their craft without worrying about the technical details related to self-tapes. We provide quality lighting, sound, video & use the best editing software availble to ensure actors look great to casting directors. They just focus on delivering a natural and believable performance; we do the rest. I hope actors take away a positive and memorable experience with a company that is run by working actors who understands their needs and want to see them win.

What do you think it takes to be successful as an artist?
Success is peace, and the freedom to do what you love. The qualities I feel you need to be successful are easy to remember because, they all start with P! Purpose, Persistence & Passion. It’s cliche but, never give up and keep going.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you as an artist and your business?
Actors & talent can take advantage of our services by going to our website at www.igottaped.com or call/text us at 459.795.8114. We are also on twitter, facebook and Instagram, our handle is @igottaped
