Meet D!llon

Today we’d like to introduce you to D!llon.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started writing music literally the day I learned to read and write. I would write songs and poems and just put my own things together even as a kid. I began around 12 writing songs for Christian radio, which actually got a couple of songs on the radio. Then when I finally found myself and was like, hey, I can really make a living doing this I started making music and writing music for myself. That just transformed into the career I have today. So it’s always been a huge part of my life. Then about two years ago I became really Unhealthy. I was diagnosed with a blood clot in my left arm and then which possibly traveled to my lungs or heart. I was so sick I literally felt as if I was on death bed. So this project has been long overdue because I was working on all of these singles and visuals before I got sick and it just put a huge vault on everything. Now I’ve been going through treatments but still battling with the issue every day until the doctors can figure out a solution.

So on top of all that, I really just pushed through and kicked it into overdrive because if this could be something fatal, I want to go out with a bang. So right then and there, I remember the day I kind of put my health in the back of my mind and just zoomed in focused on this project, which is where we are now Cold and Lie2Me, my singles that have been out for a while now. Strange feelings dropped on Christina’s of 2020 and now videos for both cold, Lie2Me and an animated video for strange feelings all completed as long as the EP Death of a Rose. I have been number 1 4 weeks in a row going for five on Insanely Gifted Radio and had a blog review for strange feelings and interview by indie-Spoonful nation radio Also received the IGR Radio award for most promising new school artist of 2020 I really can’t wait for you all to hear this project. I put every aspect of emotion and energy and even pain into this project to make it to the best I can. It’s something fans and people can really relate to and that relevance in emotion and music is an amazing connection to have with people.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not a smooth road at all. It’s been a rough road if anything. Battling this vascular illness has made everything ten times harder for me to do but I refuse to let that set me back because I’m really manifesting and watching my dreams come true and there’s nothing that will stand in the way of that. Being in and out of the hospital for two years and still ongoing hasn’t been good for business. I just had to really dig down deep and push myself even harder than before. It’s either fight or flight and I choose to fight.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an artist musician and I go by D!llon I have singled out on all digital platforms that are available right now! I create music work on creating visuals for the singles and projects and this is my career. I specialize in writing and recording most definitely. I’m really most proud of getting number 1 on the radio four weeks in a row and winning an award for that just an amazing milestone in a long but even longer journey to continue. You can listen to my music anywhere And my new single Strange Feelings is out right now! I would say what sets me apart from others is my unique sound The clash of rn/pop/and hip hop I with different flows and melodies as well as the sound of my voice I think is freaky, what sets me apart from other musicians. Is just something different and unique?

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I’ve always kind of been different in the sense of kids that wanted to play outside I wanted to stay in and play drums or write a song. I was always so into music just as a child I remember just dreaming of being an artist before I could even talk. So I really believe in being born to do something because this is in fact what I was born to do without a doubt in my mind I even taught myself how to play a little guitar as well as piano all by just sound. So personality-wise I was definitely more of a unique kid as in I would dress differently and even just kind of act differently as in knowing I just was different in a certain kind of way that was carried through music.
