Conversations with Ashleigh Wampler

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashleigh Wampler.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I did my first ever photoshoot in 2014. It actually started as a friendly competition between a friend of mine and myself. I never thought I’d like photography because I have never really liked people! But the more I put myself out there, the more in love with it I fell. I moved my business to Hawaii, where I stayed for almost three years. While I was there, I specialized in maternity and babies. After a while, I noticed myself getting burnt out. So in 2016, I turned to boudoir. I spent hours upon hours researching and educating myself on poses, lighting, different styles, and all the ins and outs of running a boudoir business. The more I looked into it, the more in love I fell. There’s nothing better than watching your client’s confidence level go from 0-100 right in front of your eyes! I can honestly say that I believe I have the best, more rewarding job that you could have.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been smooth! My business started at Fort Hood, TX, where my ex-husband was stationed. Then moved to Hawaii for three years and then back to Texas. The constant moving meant that you couldn’t have a steady client base. You had to market yourself to a new place every 2-3 years. In 2018, I moved back to my hometown and that’s when I built my forever business. And just as soon as I built it to where I wanted it to be, COVID hit and everything shut down but I have faith that 2021 will be better!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in luxury Boudoir and Women’s Portraiture. I think I’m most known for my style of photography and the experience I give my clients. The lighting in my studio stands out and my editing is my own! I pride myself in offering the best customer service and giving my clients a luxurious experience from start to finish! I have an in-studio hair and make-up artist that glams my ladies up and a client closet with over 200 pieces of lingerie for my clients to choose from for their session! All they have to do is show up and I got the rest!

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I’ve never really had the best luck, which has taught me to never give up. The harder you work, the more doors will open for you. You just have to keep your head up and truly believe that things will get better and that you’ll be successful!
