Hidden Gems: Meet Victoria Crews of Flow Tea

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Crews.

Hi Victoria, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
For most of my life, I was the girl staying home, calling out of work, and constantly miserable over something I couldn’t control. CRAMPS! They ran my life. I couldn’t function without my medication. Over-the-counter drugs are not for me, so I turned to herbs as a solution, which changed my life. Often, women aren’t informed about their cycle past Midol and Tampons. My goal was to create a product to market to help women suffering from painful menstrual cycle symptoms CHANGE their period. I’ve spent the last two years perfecting my first tea blend, “Eve’s Curse,” and I’m so excited to share it with the world.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In 2021, I moved to Dallas with my partner Steven. I have a few family members and friends here, but my core support system lives in Maryland. Starting a business is challenging on its own, especially when everyone cheering for you is 1400 miles away. Another obstacle I’ve faced is perfecting the taste of my products! Usually, the herbs that work best are difficult to transform into a delicious tea. After experimenting with a lot of different herbs from Years to Our Health, I’ve found an effective blend that tastes fantastic too!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Flow Tea?
Flow Tea’s mission is to educate women of color about natural menstrual symptom relief instead of medical band-aids. Our first tea blend, Eve’s Curse, is designed to help alleviate painful cramps, lighten heavy cycles, balance hormones and regulate irregular cycles. One serving a day can help reduce or even replace your every 6–8-hour over-the-counter medication. The phrases “I can’t go, I have cramps!” or “Can you check me?” are no longer in your vocabulary! Our slogan is “Take Your Month Back” because as women (and people who menstruate) we spend too much time planning around our periods. We’ve sat out, and stayed home for too long! It’s time for us to take back our time!

My biggest accomplishment happens every time I hear a positive review. Comments like “your tea has changed the game for me” or “I actually feel great for once” make me proud of what we created. The goal is to change how women see their cycle and if one woman walks away feeling better because of Flow, I feel accomplished.

Right now, we’re offering FREE samples for new users. Head over to Flowtea.co and signup to try Eve’s Curse. Offer ends June 30th.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My aunt was instrumental in guiding me toward herbal remedies. She used essential oils, teas, and herbs instead of traditional medication when my cousins and I were sick. After seeing how miserable I was from PMS and cramps, she gave me a bag of Yarrow to add to a smoothie every day of my cycle, and it changed. me. life. A few years ago, I started researching Yarrow again to find more information about how it works. Hours and hours of research later, I found more herbs that help with cramps and can change your cycle! That’s when I came up with the concept of Flow Tea. My research motivated me to complete Cornell University Medicinal Plants Certificate Program. There, I learned the historical and biochemical aspects of plant-based medicine. With the support of my partner Steve and my parents, I started perfecting my tea blend.
