Inspiring Stories from West Dallas

Julie McCall

Our company started as a way to share the creative ideas of myself and my husband Vince. We both worked in the corporate realm, and needed a way to express ourselves outside of that. The range of work I have created over the years has included cards, wedding invitations, graphic design, and logo creation. About 9 years ago, I decided to make some soy candles because of all the soot I discovered on my windows! And that’s when my journey began. That 15 minutes of “stretching” changed my life! Read more>>

Sally Lynn Home is a family owned business run by my husband, Oscar, and myself, Ragan. Oscar is a 3rd generation furniture store owner originally from Mexico with experience in manufacturing, as well as both wholesale and retail furniture sales. We met while studying at TCU and after graduating, lived first in Guadalajara, Mexico before moving back to Texas to start our own business. I named Sally Lynn Home after my mother, who was a collector of vintage objects and antique furniture and passed down her flair for incorporating these pieces into her home decor in a way that was not only beautiful, but also meaningful to her and her family. Read more>>

Our passion is to help others in need. Being from Nicaragua, I have seen firsthand the living conditions that many are subject to. In addition to my travels around the world, the need for clean water is a basic human right, that not all of us can afford…until now. My wife and I own several companies, however, when the opportunity presented itself to enter it the water purification industry, we didn’t even have to think about it. Our water purification unit requires only gravity, no electricity…and everyone has free access to gravity! Read more>>
