Life and Work with Ashley Bell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Bell.

Ashley, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
In 2019, I started doing mukbangs because I was depressed and couldn’t eat. I used to watch mukbang videos and watching them eat would give me an appetite to eat as well. I said if I started to do them, that would make me eat even if it was just as little bit. As I got comfortable in front of the camera, I started telling my story and realized more people could relate to my situation, and that was my fuel to the fire to start producing videos every day.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road has definitely had its obstacles. Majority of that was my eating problem and not being considered a “mukbang” channel. I don’t eat much in my videos, and most of the time, I don’t finish the whole plate. I’m just here to eat a little, and bring joy into people’s lives by conversations and telling my story through food. Which led me more towards a personality more than a mukbanger. If you’re a young woman, my best advice would be to JUST DO IT! It’s going to be hardships in everything that you do, so make sure you pick out something you love and stand behind it and just do it!

What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of? What sets you apart from others?
I am a ‘Mukbanger”. Mukbang is a live online audiovisual broadcast in which a host eats food while interacting with their audience. My brand is “Cuzzo AB”, I chose the name CUZZO because that’s what my family calls me back home in Mississippi and when people come to my channel I want them to feel like we really are family like I really am their cousin. And that we can all come together and be a family no matter who you are. I titled myself, “Ya Favorite Cuzzo”.

Who have you been inspired by?
I’ve been inspired by my mom, my two grandmas and all the women who raised me. I was raised by a village and watching them go to work every day made me realize I truly have more work to do, they’re my role models and I pray I can be half the woman my mom is when I’m older.
