Life and Work with Sarah Zarina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Zarina.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Sarah. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
During a point of self-discovery in my life, I created my Instagram page as a way to express myself and share a part of me with the Instagram community so as to positively influence and inspire others. As I have defined @MissSarahZarina, I have defined who I am. One of my personal goals right now is to strive for genuineness and wholeheartedness, as well as deliberation, passion, and, well, being a badass at life. I aim to deliver that via my content to my viewers in hopes to of sparking the same in them too.

My life is many things at one time–I wear many hats, so to speak. The goal of my Instagram is to share the different roles I fulfill and ventures I pursue, and all of the other bits and pieces of my life in between. Instagram is my platform for human outreach. I love to connect with others, to relate and purely socialize. Furthermore, if I can compel others towards a positive direction, motivate them, make them feel loved or understood, hype them up or best of all lift them up, I’m game. It’s in my nature. That’s what @MissSarahZarina is all about. That’s who I am.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
@MissSarahZarina is a product of developing my life and making lots of necessary positive changes. 2018 was a rough year, to say the least. I lost a major part of my support system and had to do a lot of things alone, which ultimately was a good thing. This has been a year of solitude and reflection, and from it was born my Instagram. Most importantly, I learned a lot about myself and I have found peace, a path which I want to share with the world.

Some advice I’d like to share with other women, particularly all of you 20-something women out there is that you DO have to love yourself before you can love anybody else. I used to always ignore that phrase coming from the older and wiser. Never listening. It’s just a saying, right? Wrong. This year, I learned it to be true. My life came to a crossroads, and I looked down the path I’d been treading and trudging behind me, and I saw something heartbreaking–I had not loved every second of my life up until that point, and I was NOT in love with myself. At that crossroads, I chose a new path of self-love which began with discovering who I was, what I loved about me, what I needed in life and truly desired. It was from that point on that I slowly began to become the strong woman that I needed to be. Please, ladies, love yourself before you dare love anyone else. You are first and you will always come first. Once you love yourself, loving the rest of the world will follow.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am an analyst at CERiS (of CorVel) which is a company that conducts itemization reviews of medical bills on behalf of the majority of primary health insurance companies in the United States. My favorite role is analyzing itemized bills for coding discrepancies, but that’s because I’m a bit of medical terminology and medical billing nerd. I have worked there for one year and truly love the job, however my eventual career path is nursing. I am currently enrolled at the University of Texas at Arlington pending acceptance to the accelerated BSN program. Wish me luck! Healthcare is my passion and I cannot wait to help and take care of others as a nurse.

Often it feels as if the media, by and large, is only focused on the obstacles faced by women, but we feel it’s important to also look for the opportunities. In your view, are there opportunities that you see that women are particularly well positioned for?
I believe that a woman can do anything she wants. There are opportunities for women everywhere, but what I personally think the best job is for a woman is anything she wants to do. Women can be a boss babe at anything! The role that I feel is the boldest and daring for women right now is being a business owner. Whether it’s her brand, her beauty salon or her marketing firm, she who runs her own empire is queen!
