Today we’d like to introduce you to Chloe Trent and Deken Taylor.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
When you think of a bottle, do you ever perceive it as art?
That’s how our story started, based on that question alone. Together, we want to ensure that BottlesCape is all about finding fun in the art of repurposing. We take bottles on the brink of being discarded and turn them into something people will value.
Our roles complement each other well, as Chloe serves as the heartbeat of BottlesCape by creating our art while Deken serves as the vessel to ensure that our art will be seen. Together, we are two creative seeking best friends that want people to become bottle enthusiasts as much as we are!
We started off researching a ton on how our bottle products can remain sustainable throughout time (and still do). Since our launch in July 2022, we have participated in several local art events as vendors and guests. We showed the world what we could create with bottles, tumblers, and vases in 2022. In 2023, we’re letting bottle caps get loose through magnets and setting the mood with tealight candles too!
We are a two-people team that bonds over being strong-willed, ambitious, creative go-getters who want to make positive impacts in this world.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
BottlesCape has been genuinely thankful on this journey. To the obstacles that have come our way, we embraced them with open arms. We try our best to have a process for everything we do to avoid struggles. Preparation is key.
As an arts and crafts business, we learned a lot about our audience, and where their interest lay, which was one of the challenges we faced. In 2023 we are ready to come out with new art that reaches a broader audience and piques the interest of consumers.
Another challenge we faced was helping people realize that a bottle could be art. It is challenging to have people accept a concept like “Your water bottle is art” when it is usually seen as trash once people are done using it. However, we have seen reactions from people who are amazed and shocked that we took an everyday item and turned it into something beautiful. It’s an ongoing progress but we are changing people’s perspectives on what can be considered art.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Clearly, we are an arts and crafts business specializing in repurposing bottles into art. This alone makes us a rare entity compared to others. We repurpose art through bottles, bottle cap magnets, bottle cap tealight candles, tumblers, and vases.
While we have plenty of choices to offer, we can say that our most popular bottle art consists of illustrious zodiac signs, iconic anime characters, and black excellence styles (PERIOD).
What do you think about happiness?
Two creatives established BottlesCape with the goal of creating and finding different ways to repurpose art. We noticed that although people understand recycling, we wanted to push the initiative of how people viewed art. We do this by illustrating various art forms on bottles.
Therefore, what makes us happy is creating art that our audience desires, while pushing the limits of creativity and doing it in a manner of recycling and repurposing.
Of course, we hope to share our happiness with many more bottle enthusiasts in the future!
