Meet Amanda Brummitt of The Brummitt Group in Coppell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Brummitt.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Amanda. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have a passion for strategy and marketing. I was working in a hospital and had several physicians encourage me to start my own consulting business. I was in graduate school at the time. After a few ah-hah moments combined with the idea that had been planted, I decided to go for it!

How I got to where I am today? It’s simple. Hard work and God’s grace.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Yes and no. I have an undergraduate degree in business and a master’s degree in health administration. I worked as a manager and executive for years in both small and large organizations. I have a ton of knowledge about operations, financials, strategy, and big picture running of a business. So, I expected “running a business” to be easy.

Want to know what kicked my tail? Little things. Setting up my company with the Texas Workforce Commission Figuring out Texas State Franchise Taxes. They don’t teach you these things in school and I had worked for large enough companies, that I didn’t get involved in those functions. It was very humbling for me.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about The Brummitt Group – what should we know?
The Brummitt Group focuses on healthcare clients – doctors, hospitals, etc. We bridge the gap between advertising agencies, strategy consultants, and community liaisons.

We offer a full portfolio of services ranging from graphic design to copy writing to strategic planning and even introducing them to the community. We are really good at building a full blown strategic marketing plan and then implementing it or teaching our clients to implement it with their staff.

I’m most proud of the long-term relationships we develop with clients. We have many clients that have been with us since we opened in 2008. It means the world to me that they have entrusted us over the long run.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Hard work. Simply, we work hard for our clients. We develop a plan and stick to it. We get stuff done.
