Meet Amy Puchaty of Amy Puchaty Communications

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Puchaty.

Amy, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Dallas is a special place. I was born in Texas and have family spread out all over the state, from Dallas to Bowie, and all the way down south to Houston. I founded my business in Dallas in 2015 after years of serving as Director of Public Relations and Agent Marketing for two prominent real estate brokerages, Fuller Sotheby’s International Realty in Denver, CO (now LIV Sotheby’s International Realty) and Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty in Dallas-Fort Worth.

When I decided to go out on my own, I was blessed to retain strong relationships with the leadership and marketing departments of both companies, and still work on a contract basis for both to this day. From there my business has grown primarily by word of mouth and referrals. I love being able to go the extra mile for my clients, whether it is turning around listing copy in 24-48 hours, drafting a compelling professional biography, or creating agent marketing collateral that is fresh and interesting.

I keep current by writing for top real estate websites like,, and, whose founder and publisher is famed Dallas real estate journalist, Candy Evans. Candy is a huge inspiration. She has her finger on the pulse of what’s happening in Dallas, and I admire her in many ways. Most recently I was brought on as a contributor at, the industry’s leading source of real estate information, known for its award-winning journalism, cutting-edge technology coverage, in-depth educational opportunities, and forward-thinking events.

Earlier this year I moved back to Boulder, Colorado just north of Denver due to my husband’s company relocating us, but thanks to the nature of my work, I am able to serve agents all across the country. Dallas will always have a special place in my heart, and I am happy to call it my second home.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think the biggest challenge of being a business owner or entrepreneur is, of course, generating new business. I have learned that reputation is everything. People respond to excellent customer service and enjoy working with someone that is accountable, informed, and passionate about what they do. I am fortunate to have a marketing background, and have been able to lean upon that expertise to build my brand and make strategic marketing choices on a shoestring budget. It is important to have a discerning eye and not jump at every opportunity that is out there. I am all about efficiency and aligning myself with the best in the business. The word of mouth referrals and repeat clients stem from great work. Most importantly, stay true to yourself and never give up.
