Today we’d like to introduce you to Briana Jackson.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Briana. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Back in 2015 when my son was born, I knew there was more to life than dropping him off at daycare and working a job I didn’t necessarily love from 9-6 every day.
That started my journey of makeup, eyelash extensions, and my YouTube channel, Briana Jackson. Ever since I was a little girl watching my mom do her makeup in the morning was one of my favorite things to do.
I started growing love for makeup at an early age and started to take clients in 2016, all while still maintaining a full-time job as a Property Director in downtown Dallas. While my love for makeup grew, I also wanted to branch out and do eyelash extensions as a second source of income. So, I did!
In early 2017, I was laid off after four years of being with the company and focused full time on all these business ventures! It’s been tough, but it’s been great!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Going from making 70k a year to the road of entrepreneurship, is an adjustment. I think for me having a family, our income becoming deflated drastically took a toll on us. I questioned myself a lot!
Another struggle was not being super social. I’m a very friendly person, but I am a little more on the shy side of the spectrum. At times it’s hard for me to come out of my shell, but once I do, you can’t stop me. One of the things I want to work on during the New Year is being more of a social butterfly.
We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I specialize in makeup, eyelash extensions, and have my YouTube channel that I plan on expanding in 2019. I am most proud of helping men and women feel beautiful!
I think what sets me apart is my urge to want to know about my clients and eventually be lifelong friends and acquaintances!
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
My work ethic! If you’re lazy, you won’t get anywhere!
