Meet Brittany Partain

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Partain.

Brittany, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
In all seriousness, I think it probably started at summer camp as a middle schooler. My mom trusted me to bring her point and shoot film camera along to document all that would take place that week. I’ve really always loved documenting life and the things and people who make it really sweet.

I often say that photography is just capturing the evidence of God’s grace in people’s lives. In some seasons that looked like working on my high school yearbook staff or for the marketing department at my small private college. I unintentionally fell into wedding photography after some acquaintances from my school asked me to shoot their wedding.

I had zero experience at that time shooting weddings and barely had money for my own DSLR camera because at the time I was gaining experience photographing events for my school with their gear. But the couple trusted me and really incredible people have been trusting me since.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are pros and cons to everything in life and often challenges along the way. I started off photographing people “officially” in college when I didn’t have any money for school, much less, fancy camera gear.

However, I was fortunate to have the encouragement of an amazing community around me who continued to present opportunities for me to grow and learn. The relationships I have made transcend the obstacles that presented themselves (and continue to) along the way.

Please tell us more about your work.
I am a photographer of people – although I do love branding & travel photography too. I am primarily a wedding and portrait photographer here in Dallas and beyond. People are my niche.

I love coming alongside strangers and forming relationships with them while having the opportunity to capture a piece of their life in their present season.

I think there is value in remembering and creating something that causes our hearts to do that with gladness and joy!
