Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittnee Lethermon.
Brittnee, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Yenisi Beauty has always been in my heart ever since I started experimenting with making my own natural hair and skincare products in 2015. I always wrote down my recipes and kept them in a safe place, because I knew one day I would use them in a beauty business that I would soon own! Fast-forward to 2018, my husband and I are expecting our first child, and I have the case of the itchy pregnant belly. So, I went to my kitchen to cook up a recipe that would relieve my dry, itchy skin and stretching belly. One key ingredient that I never thought to put in my skin recipe was cocoa butter. For some reason, it was calling out to my heart, and dry belly to add to my recipe. The skin care recipe I made or “body butter” as we call it was a hit! All of my family and friends loved it! They have also loved my hair products that I have made for years as well. With the nudging of my supportive husband, family, and friends, Yenisi Beauty was launched just a few short months later in August 2018.
Has it been a smooth road?
Starting a business, while being a newlywed, full-time masters student, and expecting your first child was challenging to say the least. I wanted to give up time and time again, but I believe God had another plan for me. My husband, also gently led me to keep pursuing my dreams along the way. I’d say the biggest challenge was adjusting to being a new mom. I did not know how to balance all the demands of my new life initially. After a couple of months, I finished my masters and was able to gather my bearings through the generous help of my family with the baby and substantial amount of emotional support from my husband. They have been there since day one with all of the vendor events, Dallas Farmers Market, and baby duty. I honestly could not have done it without them! Thank you!
We’d love to hear more about your business.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I believe the vegan and organic industry is beginning to blossom in Dallas. The more that people become aware of what they put in their bodies, and on their skin and hair, the better chances of businesses such as mine will flourish in the future.
