Today we’d like to introduce you to Cecelia Rountree and Tim Nelson.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Cecelia and Tim. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My Mom and bonus Dad started this business is 2016, at this time I was 16 and only doing installations and pick-ups occasionally. Early last year I started taking orders and contacting customers. I continued taking orders while I was away at college. When quarantine started in March our business boomed and my classes went to online. I moved home and continued to take orders as well as installs and pick-ups. My boyfriend, Tim, planned the routes for installers to deliver and pick up greetings due to the influx of orders coming in each night.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Everything was smooth until the boom, it was out of nowhere! The system we had been using for scheduling orders was on a much smaller scale than what was needed for dealing with the demand rising daily. We had to make changes to our processes so that we could efficiently provide the personal touch we enjoyed but also continue to deliver the quality product that we pride ourselves on providing to families.
Please tell us about the company.
Our company installs yard signs that can be any greeting or phrase you would like to say. The greeting is delivered and installed after dark for the recipient to have a ‘surprise’ in their yard the following morning. The signs are rented, so we return the following evening and pick them up. Happy Birthday greetings are the most popular, however we can provide any phrase a customer would like to celebrate. Anything from “Cancer Free” to “We’re Going to Disney!” are all possible. We are a family helping other families celebrate their special events. When you call you may speak to me, Tim or one of the other members of either family. We are all working together to provide a good experience for the recipient of the greeting. We love being able to deliver “smiles and surprises for any occasion, every day” and we are most proud of the joy we have been able to bring during the pandemic as well to many customers year around. Our ability to create many different phrases is what sets us apart from many other yard cards companies in our area.
