Today we’d like to introduce you to Scott Morse and Scott Jessen, Managing Partners of Citadel Partners, A Real Estate Advisory Firm in Dallas, Texas.
Can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today?
We started in the property management and leasing business and then transitioned into industrial tenant representation. After that, we expanded into office tenant representation and have been there ever since.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth road; the 1987–1992 real estate depression was devastating. The business turned around in late 1992 and grew up until the tech wreck in 2001, which caught even the technology companies by surprise. After recovering from that, our business grew until the global financial crisis in 2008-2009. Business stayed flat until late 2012 when we began a rapid growth and that trend continues to this day.
What is your definition of success?
Our definition of success is to have a growing spiritual life, the love, health and happiness of our families, to be a positive influence on those around us and in our company, and to demonstrate a commitment to our community and industry through our actions.

We started Citadel Partners in January of 2012 doing exclusively corporate tenant representation assisting clients to grow their business through real estate. We are involved in leasing, acquisition/disposition, and build-to-suit. We are most proud of the people that are associated with Citadel Partners.
