Please tell us about your art.
Soul Extraordinaire, D-Soul Davis Combines the likes of Soul, Jazz, Blues, and Hip Hop. After touring and playing with several Cover Bands. He longed to make more meaningful and impactful music. His first single “In the Name of Love” was inspired by the Trayvon Martin and Mike Brown killings. The song is a deep interpretation of brutality, homelessness, and senseless killings on Police. Unity and Peace is what D-Soul Davis tries to convey in his art. He also writes, composes, and co – produces all of his own lyrical content. He writes from his own personal life struggles, and experiences. He hopes the audience walks away with the same emotional connection.

Given everything that is going on in the world today, do you think the role of artists has changed? How do local, national or international events and issues affect your art?
Yes, I think more of a message is needed. We’ve all heard the same message about money, cars, and clothes. My music is affected to a degree because I present a positive message of love and prosperity. A lot of clubs look to play more trap music or the next trending artist, who usually only last one year. I look to make music for people to listen to for years to come.
