Meet David Tribble of David Tribble Music in Live

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Tribble.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m a hopeless dreamer who decided music is too big and alive to allow it to be put in a safe place or kept in a box up in my closet. It doesn’t get old and it is connected to everything in life so its the perfect thing to allow change and to make a difference, and as long as I have breathed I will. I see that a lot more people are making music now and finding ways to look inside and say this is what I found and let me see what I can do with it. Sometimes it turns out good, but as they say “what goes in is what comes out”.

I long to give the gift of music back to God, the creator of this earth and its people, for good and for lasting purpose to reach farther and wider than I could ever do on my own. God leads me through my days and nights even if I leave him behind and sin I know he still loves me and wants me to use these gifts of making music and singing, to be more than chords and lyrics for someone to hear, so much more. I’ve been serious about music since 2009, before that I was a single guy who sat and wrote songs and played the guitar instead of eating lunch, songwriting is food! I released my first EP in 2009 and also got married to my wife Erin, who is from Fort Worth.

We now have a 5-year-old daughter, Harper, and have adopted a newborn baby girl from Gladney Adoption Agency in Fort Worth, her name is Emberly and we will bring her home in May. If you take a snapshot of our life 2 years ago it would not even come close to our life now, but that is our path and we are very excited and anxious to see what else lies ahead. We know God has chosen us despite the issues of fertility and a miscarriage. Plus, after 14 years of teaching and coaching, I stopped and am now finding ways to allow music to make a bigger effect of supporting and providing as well as being a Worship Leader at Life Connection Church in Euless TX since Nov. 2017. Needless to say, it has been a wild roller coaster ride, and we do not like roller coasters. But let’s ride!

I get the opportunity to play music a lot more now and am looking for more ways to do that and promote what I am passionate about. I have been in the studio this year recording 6 new songs, 5 to be released this year on an EP and one to be released as a single next year. Along with family and a new baby girl, I am looking forward to promoting these songs to the “world” of DFW and then up and out from there. This is one of those projects, later in my career, that I feel, maybe I did something right. After all, I’m just getting started.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Our struggles, because we all have them and they make us who we are shaped up to be. My friend Evan said to me the other day, “bro I believe true creativity comes out of struggle”. In Jan of 2011, we were in the doctor’s office trying to figure out how we were going have a child, we needed help. 9 months later and with an emergency C section 3 weeks early came a beautiful baby girl, barely 4 lbs and all legs.

Fast forward to 2015 and we are ready to try for another, same procedures, twice my wife went through the fertility process. One ectopic pregnancy later (baby is developed in the wrong place) and after many many prayers and tears were shed. We decided to adopt. At that time there was a reoccurring theme of people at Gladney Adoption Agency in Fort Worth popping up randomly in my path. Very random. I told my wife about it, we’d both on the same page about adoption, and now here we are. That process has been a long one but with amazing support and love, we are at the end of the tunnel and ready to bring home another beautiful baby girl.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about David Tribble Music – what should we know?
I write songs, I play guitar and sing. But that is just the simple description. I do what I love and am able to allow my passion for music to live out loud. I play my songs for people every week and make new friends and fans and connections that give my music wings to fly into peoples lives and make a difference.

I also get the great privilege to lead a great group of people in worship every Sunday at Life Connection Church along with a great and talented group of musicians in the band. I feel like I can produce very different styles of music by tapping into a song and the way it is presented. Country, Folk, Indie, Soul, -they call this Americana so it has a category but it really depends on which song I’m playing.

Music climbs out of a box and makes its home on stage for 4-6 min and I love to open that door whether in church or on a patio or small stage somewhere. I’ve been a solo artist for most of my career but a band has fluctuated on and off through the years and even more now.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I’ve always been very laid back and easy going, and if you put music in the mix it is certainly that way. I enjoy writing songs a lot. It is such a fun challenge for me, I’m always gonna take it on. I guess it’s like legos, you have so many pieces to choose from and you can sit down and create something new and different every time and let your heart and your voice bring your hands to create a masterpiece of all three. Most of the time I’m sitting in front of a big pile of Legos!
