Meet Nate Foreman of Foreman Therapy Services

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nate Foreman.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Nate. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am a Physical Therapist by trade, that started working for a company similar to FTS in 2010. After learning about the industry and looking at the competition that was out there, I thought that I could do better.

In Sept 2011, I decided to start FTS. We were a 1-man show, that was run out of my apartment. Over the past 6 years, we have grown to be one of the largest Therapy companies in Texas with over 350 employees on staff. We have been recognized as one of the fastest growing companies in Dallas for the past few years.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
We have encountered every single problem one could encounter. One of our Core Values is Failure, and this is something that I believe is one of the most important components of business. Using Failure as an opportunity to learn.

Our big problem was trying to find the balance between growing, and growing too fast. We have had some very high growth years recently, and we wanted to make sure we didn’t sacrifice quality and service to say “yes”.

With every failure/struggle, we have been able to learn from them, and put stops in place for the next time. I believe that with every failure, it gives you an opportunity to learn from it, and get stronger as a company.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Foreman Therapy Services – what should we know?
We are a Healthcare Staffing company that places Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech Language Pathologists.

We work quite a bit in the Home Health sector and are best known for the innovative technology that we use. We have developed an Uber-like software (Zuum) over the past few years that our entire company runs through. Zuum is a technology that we are looking to take to market as well.

I am most proud of the culture that we have created. It is very difficult to create a culture when most of your workforce is working remotely. We have made huge investments in creating a “Team” atmosphere for our staff. If you check out our social media accounts you can get a snapshot of what our culture is like. Our culture is definitely our differentiator amongst our competitors.

We are also big on promoting internally. All of our managers have been promoted from the inside-out. This has been painful at times, because they don’t come with experience, but I am committed to help train/develop them to be leaders in our organization. I want our staff to look at their job as a career, not just a job.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My employees. I have been fortunate to hire some incredible employees, that have allowed us to get to where we are today. There is NO WAY we could have gotten to where we are without them. We expect employees to “own their role”. It takes a special employee to really live this out, and we have been blessed to have quite a few of them on our team.
