Meet Griffin Tucker

Today we’d like to introduce you to Griffin Tucker.

Griffin, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have been playing music since I was five. I started on drums &, within a few years, I also learned guitar, piano & bass guitar.

I played in my 1st band when I was 8. I was the drummer for a Beatles Tribute Band & that was a blast! Later, I toured with Disney artist Zendaya, and, after that, I started my solo career. My 1st original song & video was “Girlfriend.” I still love that song and still perform it. But, I laugh when I go back now & watch that video because I was so little that the guitar was as big as me!

Since then, I’ve been writing & performing whenever & wherever. I have also been fortunate to be nominated for several awards around the country & across the pond. However, I am most proud of winning the Texas 10 under 20 Guitar contest at the Dallas International Guitar Festival when I was 13 years old. Because of that, I was scouted to be on THE VOICE when I was 14 &, at 15, I was scouted for American Idol. Katy Perry called me “a young Paul McCartney.” and Lionel Richie said “Your level of talent is staggering. If this is what do at 15, I’m afraid of you.” I will never forget that! Then, this past year, I was nominated for the highest designation an artist can receive from the Texas State legislature, “Texas State Artist – State Musician.” Mind-blowing!

But the best part of what I do is playing live to an audience. There is nothing better than that! My band, Griffin Tucker & The Real Rock Revolution, is a powerhouse trio and I think we put on a killer show. We play a lot of my original music and classic rock covers.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
In the beginning, the biggest struggle was being taken seriously. I was so young & I had this little kid voice; but, I knew what I wanted. I’ve known since I was five, that I wanted to make music my career, my life. So, I practiced & worked hard to avoid being seen or stereotyped as some kid star.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Griffin Tucker – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I am proud of my music and and blessed by my fans who dig it!  What sets me apart is the fact that I am influenced by music that was made before I was even born. But it is that great classic rock sound that moves me and makes me want to continue creating new rock & roll for future generations.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I am releasing more music this year. My next song, “Lead Me”, will be out in the spring so be sure to follow me on social media for the release dates of the actual song, lyric video & the official music video. I think it is my best song yet & I can’t wait for everyone to hear it. If you like rock & roll music, I know you’ll dig it!
