Meet Isaac Fox of Dawn Treader in Rockwall

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isaac Fox.

Isaac, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
2.5 years ago, a group of passionate and likeminded people came together with only $50 and an ability to plan sick parties and a desire to change the lives of women and children. Somehow they came together with the purpose of changing lives all around the world. Be that as it may, knocking on doors for money isn’t really our style. Hence, we commandeered the music industry, to now make it work for defenseless women and children. Every month we provide live music and craft coffee for customers regularly seeking new and fresh music.

With every ticket sold, we use our revenue to build physical homes specifically, orphans and widows. We have had the privilege of successfully providing homes in Honduras, Central America and Mozambique, Africa. We now have high hopes of being able to provide homes in Guatemala. We are able to accomplish our mission through partnership with other nonprofits such as Children’s Relief International and Serve Hope who also has established ministries overseas. With Dawn Treader seeking to expand, we are looking for anyone who would like to join in our mission to defend orphans and widows by opening up their homes, backyards, coffee shops or any open space to host shows in different parts of the metroplex.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Outside of achieving our 501(3)(c) status and the occasional late band member, for Dawn Treader it has been pretty smooth sailing. As a team, our deeply rooted faith has spurred us on in the pursuit of the mission of defending widows and orphans, even in the midst of the obstacles.

We’d love to hear more about your organization.
As an organization, we are most proud of making people’s whole weekend. We absolutely love to see our customers enjoying themselves, the smiles on their faces, and bands being able to light up the whole room. We love that we have been able to cultivate a fairly diverse culture and unify people with a common love for music and helping others. Aside from that, our biggest pride and achievement is knowing that women and children have a house to sleep in. The biggest thing that sets us apart from every other nonprofit, is that we use entertainment to accomplish our mission.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment we have experienced so far has been when we were able to build our first home in Honduras. To see the finished product, along with the family that would now have a roof over their head and door to lock at night, that brought tears to everyone’s eyes.
