Meet Jen Sugermeyer of JSUG

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jen Sugermeyer.

Hi Jen, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Spent 15-years as an IT leader in corporate. From Afghanistan to California, from contracting to the government to private and publically traded companies – I’m all too familiar with corporate America. The money was good. The benefits were predictable. The travel was fun. But, there was something missing. I knew there was something more in the world for me and I was supposed to make a big impact. I didn’t know what that thing was until I looked at myself in the mirror one day and committed to learning to love myself and find my own happiness. The success wasn’t enough to bring me joy, clarity, fulfillment, and that’s what I was truly seeking. I launched fully into this journey of self-discovery and I learned about the power of the mind. A funny change started to happen. Not only did I feel better about myself, but I got a promotion, my personal life improved, I enhanced my relationships, I had more clarity, peace, and happiness! I knew what my impact on the world was supposed to be; I was supposed to help others step into their most powerful and confident selves. Now, I speak, have three books, coach 1:1, work with corporations, all with the foundation of working on the mind.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting a new career is like graduating college and starting fresh (in a sense). I had to learn a lot about running a business. I still learn a lot and in no way would I say I’ve mastered this. Lead generation has undoubtedly been an opportunity to learn and grow. Just because you have certifications, courses, a point of sale system, and are ready to take clients- doesn’t mean they come knocking down your door. You have to find them, they won’t just find you.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Jen is an ICF Certified Transformation and Leadership Coach specializing in mindset and confidence. She works 1:1 with high-achievers that want to take their personal and professional lives to the next level. She also works with corporations to improve morale, productivity, retention, leadership, with an underlying focus on mindset and soft skills. Additionally, Jen travels nationally to speak on stages delivering keynotes and motivational speeches. Jen is an Ambassador for the Irving Chamber of Commerce and an active member of the community. She has three books, her most recent being ‘Confidence is Queen.’

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Tenacity, willingness to learn, and heart. This is the power pack. Have the tenacity to continue on even when you hear NO, things take longer than expected, or your business pivots. Be open to learning from others (get a coach, best investment you can make is in yourself). Lastly, connect with your WHY. Knowing why you’re doing what you’re doing will help propel you and smash those walls that may seem to be in your path.
