Today we’d like to introduce you to Joanna James.
Joanna, please share your story with us.
I have worked with clients both big and small and providing them with solutions and implementing plans to help with their day to day, monthly, quarterly and as needed basis needs for total building maintenance, construction site clean-up, make ready services, property management, and lawn care needs. My firm specializes in janitorial services and posts construction clean up. I have more than 28 years of experience in the building maintenance industry. I have a strong appreciation for each and every customer. It doesn’t matter if the project is 1000 square feet or 100,000 square feet, I will give each client the same priority regardless of size.
When I am not hard at work in my Texas office, I can be found in my local gym, hiking or spending quality time with family and friends. I am a very firm believer in that one must take care of themselves in order to be any good to anyone else. Therefore, I look at the time I spend taking care me allows me the strength and energy needed to take care of clients, family and friends. I always look forward to discussing your needs and assisting with simplifying your life so that you can focus on the other more important people, places and things in your life.
“LEAVE THE DIRTY WORK TO US”
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Although being an entrepreneur has many benefits, it also has come with many obstacles as well. Some of the challenges I have faced have been the pressure to act a certain way. When you are operating a business that is a primarily male industry, it can sometimes be intimidating. I have always refused to develop the “male business attitude” and stick to just being myself and not conforming to what someone’s idea is of what a business owner should look like.
Work/Life balance is so important in any line of work. However, an entrepreneur will find themselves totally consumed in wanting to make sure their business is a success. This can be very stressful and challenging. As women, we have to wear so many hats as wife, mother, cook, caregiver, and mompreneurs. With so many responsibilities to my family and business, it was not easy to balance the two. There has always been a cloud over my head known as the fear of failure. This is always a top concern of any business.
I believe that massive obstacles bring about massive successes. I work hard at ignoring that inner voice that would try to discourage me from being the BEST ME. I have developed so many wonderful and lifelong relationships. Being an entrepreneur has given me the freedom to do and experience so many wonderful things and places. I have appreciated the ability to be available to so many in my business and personal life. For me, the entrepreneur life has been a great life for me.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Maxpro Enterprise – what should we know?
I am a woman-owned small business located in the Dallas/ Ft Worth metroplex. We provide a wide array of services that range from post construction clean up to lawn care services. I have always wanted to be in a position to help someone or simply just to give back to others. I am able to do so by employing individuals who may have a bit of a difficult time finding jobs and giving them the opportunity to become supervisors in their field.
I am proud of the fact that we have been around for more than two decades and have been told by many current and past employees how it has been such a joy to work for a small firm as mines. I have always wanted to be reachable to my workers. I make myself available to not only the clients but also to the workers who make this business what it is today.
