Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Kim.
Jonathan, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
First and foremost I’m a Marine veteran who has always had a drive to succeed in life, in and out of the uniform. I have always sought out opportunities to better myself and I’ve never been satisfied with the status quo. I guess I’ve always just saw myself doing something more than merely fitting in, personally and professionally speaking. After getting out of the military I was fortunate enough to land some great opportunities within corporate America but I wasn’t happy being another cog in the wheel. I quickly realized that my supervisors were making triple and quadruple my pay, in roles I was completely capable of fulfilling. Having a realization like that can be very motivating, and for me I really seized the moment. Once that light went off I decided to embrace the entrepreneur life and the idea of TechMillennial started to take shape. A couple years later here I am, getting this company off the ground in a dynamic manner. I feel very blessed.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I don’t know if anything worth doing is ever ‘smooth’. I think I’ve been riding the entrepreneur roller coaster, as it were. There are moments when you think you’ve got it all figured out and then there are days you feel like a complete failure- like, “why am I doing this to myself?” But in the end, hard work always pays off. I have built up a strong network of other veterans and entrepreneurs alike, and I realized that I am paying the dues that every successful person pays eventually. My secret to success in business is to remain flexible, trust my gut, and never give up.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about TechMillennial – what should we know?
TechMillennial offers multiple services. We offer business website starter services and training support, CRM support, SEO and SEM services, and content creation. Basically, we offer everything that can either get your new business up and running efficiently, or we can take your current company and show you exactly what you need to do to be successful in the online world. There is a lot more that goes into running a successful online presence than just simply getting a website together with a storefront address. These are things we teach business owners, while showing them how to also make the most of their online advertising. It all really ties in together.
Something that sets TechMillennial apart is that I have handpicked everyone that works on my team. I don’t use the word staff because I see all of the professionals I work with as that, professionals. They are all subject matter experts in their own craft and I greatly appreciate the amazing work they do for me and with me every day.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Bernadette Coleman, She gave me the opportunity to learn and grow from her existing company and as her executive assistant, it gave me time to excel in everything that I did.
