Meet Jonathon Barrientos

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathon Barrientos.

Hi Jonathon, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I never thought for one second growing up, “Hey, I want to be in real estate” actually I was always more interested in working with my hands and building things, so I spent seven years as an overhaul tech building turbine engines which were used to generate power for offshore oil or were even used as back up generators for certain facilities. I actually aspired to work in hazard zones such as going in the middle east or certain parts of Africa where you had to be transported by military when going to your work station, I mean hey if the pay is good why not go right? But at the end of the day, I started to realize how much time I’d be away from my family and well being away from my grandparents didn’t sit well with me at all. Before you know it someone started mentioning real estate investing and my fire for real estate began. I started to notice my passion for educating and helping others, so while real estate investing was a great experience, I felt my calling to help young families was much stronger which has brought me to where I am today and along with young families, I also get to help newer agents who have question and need a little guidance.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not, especially since I quit my job cold turkey and dove headfirst into real estate with absolutely zero experience. Then throw in the fact that I didn’t know that many people who wanted to buy a house and top it off with me having introvert like tendencies, my networking skills were nowhere to be found, and if anyone knows anything about real estate, this is kind of a recipe for disaster and I should probably look into another field which simply was not going to happen. I would then go on to join Rogers Healy and Associates and proceed to bury myself in their extensive education system filled with a library of need to know/ must have info for any realtor or entrepreneur out there. This ultimately led to me building my social network pages and even taking things a step further by making videos and starting my youtube channel which has opened a whole new business revenue for me.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
If I had to pick one thing I specialize in, it’s education, my client’s questions are answered before they even ask, I want my clients to know the in’s and out’s of the deal, and for first-time homebuyers especially my “over communication” is better than “under communicating” approach is greatly appreciated (looking at you Jules). I’m proud to say with this approach and my personality, my clients aren’t just people I’ve helped buy a home, but they are people whom have become my friends, they are families who I have now built a relationship with, people who I want to see do well, and they want to see me do the same. These past clients now friends, helped me build my social and have been a heavy influence in my videos as my videos truly show my personality and the kind of person I am to work with, which is half the battle isn’t it? You can read all the reviews in the world but if you don’t know the individual whats the point? Sure a face to face sit down or phone call would be great! But what If you could just go to someone’s page and truly get an idea of what this particular person is like? That is where my clients have helped me set myself apart through social videos and an aspiring youtube channel that anyone can go to truly see “This is really him, this is Jon”.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
My clients well being is what matters to me the most because these families are trusting me with the largest investment they’ve ever made or will ever make. I seek to put them in a position to win, grow, and thrive… with that being said I always give my honest opinion and vast knowledge of the areas we are searching in whether it be Grand Prairie, Midlothian, Rockwall, Heath, Forney, etc. If I wouldn’t settle in the area myself or I know I wouldn’t be happy if I were in their place, I will express so because I want my clients to be happy and want to leave no room for buyers remorse.
