Today we’d like to introduce you to LaShonda Ward.
LaShonda, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I believe my journey started the minute I walked across the stage graduating from my high school. Because not only was I three months pregnant with my now 15-year-old daughter, I also had some important decisions to make. So, I jumped right into the workforce and begin working dead-end jobs for a few years so that I could provide for my baby and I, but it didn’t take me long to learn the ropes so I moved through the corporate world pretty quickly but in the corporate world you’re not measured by your productivity but more so by who you know. I hope that makes sense. I knew that was not the career path I wanted to continue on so one day, I had an Epiphany and real estate quickly grew as a passion of mine. I completed real estate school after some time and it’s been great so far. Once I passed all my exams, I signed with my brokerage and I hit the ground running because I had so much to prove to myself and I wanted so much more for my children. Then, it was born “Empire Living” powered by Orbit Realty Group.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I’ve had some unique challenges along the way but let’s just say they help to thicken my skin and prepare me for my destiny. I’ve had some unique challenges along the way but let’s just say they’ve help to thicken my skin and prepare me for my destiny. In the last year and a half, I’ve given birth to a new baby but I didn’t let that slow me down. Instead while I was going through some of life’s ups and downs which could’ve broken me, caused me to be depressed, angry and in a bad space,I honestly am just the opposite. I’m happier, I can think more clearly and I’m truly excited about what’s ahead.
Empire Living – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I’m a licensed real estate agent in the state of Texas and the name of my company is “Empire Living” and it’s brokered by Orbit Realty Group in Frisco, Texas. I would say I specialize in educating my community while building relationships with my clients. When I meet a new client who is looking to buy or sell real estate, I’m not just looking to gain another transaction under my belt I genuinely care about my clients and want to ensure that they have the best possible experience in that real estate transaction from application to closing day. If I can provide my clients with the smallest bit of information when it comes to real estate that alone makes me proud to call myself a Realtor and I’ve worked with my fair share of clients from first-time homebuyers to empty-nesters planning for retirement. Over time, I’ve learned to pay attention to detail, I want my clients to have a positive lasting remembrance of me and if me checking up on their well-being or asking them about a loved one can give them that then that’s what I want to do. What sets me apart from the others? It’s not just about the money or the transaction it’s about the experience and the timestamp that I’m going to leave with that client once they’ve closed on their house.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
For me, success is when I can feel good about the decisions that I’ve made at the end of the day! In the real estate world for me, success is when a past or future client refers me to a friend or loved one or a tag of my business page or my personal page on Facebook when someone is asking for a realtor in the area that I serve.
