Today we’d like to introduce you to Latrice Love.
Latrice, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Previously, my career spanned everything from fashion and beauty, to launching a boutique agency (social media, branding) to, most recently, growing from an entry-level digital marketer to leading the consumer division at a boutique content marketing & pr agency.
During that time, I really became interested in clean beauty (this was a few years ago when clean beauty wasn’t the force that it is today). Then, when I learned about the toxins found in makeup, especially lipstick – which I wore everyday at the time – it sparked my passion to create Liplove.
After a couple of years of research and development, consulting with key advisors, and refining product development, Liplove was born.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
While it hasn’t been easy, it has definitely been worth it!
Transitioning from having a comfortable salary and (somewhat) predictable day to day has been the biggest struggle for me, but it has mostly taught me the value of having faith and fighting for the vision day in and day out.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Liplove – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Liplove is a cruelty-free, vegan lip line that is committed to providing lip colors that complement every complexion.
It’s not lipstick of lip gloss – the unique, oil-based formula moisturizes and hydrates the lips, and the color choices cater to a variety of women and lifestyles.
Liplove is truly its own product category – not only is it a beauty product that looks good, but it benefits the lips and skin.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
The Lip2 collection just launched, which is a multipurpose product that can be used on the lips, cheeks, and eyes.
Product development is always a focus, and I am working on some additional products and categories. There are also some brand collaborations and experiential pop-ups in the works.
I am looking forward to continually connecting, growing and innovating in both life and business!
