Meet Logun and Emily Liening of Two Feather Films in McKinney

Today we’d like to introduce you to Logun and Emily Liening.

Logun and Emily, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
We started our company three years ago with a passion that stemmed from our own wedding video. Our wedding film we received didn’t tell our story and represent us in a way that would leave a legacy for our children & grandchildren. We knew we could create that unique experience for other couples to look back on and so we jumped right in! We are self-taught and focus on connecting with our couples on a very personal level to create a film unique to them & their families. Wedding films are completely different from our parent’s generation, and we deliver a modern film that tells a timeless story.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Logun: I remember approaching Emily and telling her I wanted to spend… well, a lot, of money on camera gear and equipment to start this business. We were in college and had basically enough money to live with a little extra to spend. We put it on a credit card and within a year of being in business, we’re able to pay it off and even buy more gear!

Emily: I was super hesitant to start this business, but trusted Loguns vision. We filmed our first wedding free for a friend of ours and it was so much fun! Right away, we knew we wanted to grow our business and tried to network as much as possible. We had to rent a lot of gear in the beginning, and one time the gear was stuck on a FedEx truck for the whole weekend, i.e. we couldn’t get it for the wedding. We pulled a hail mary and were able to get our equipment last minute from another retailer. It was a really stressful moment but Logun finds a way, always.

Two Feather Films – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are a husband and wife team of videographers! We specialize in cinematic wedding films that tell your story in a way that will leave a legacy. While we know pretty images are an important part, it’s the marriage & connection you have that we want to show. We want you to have a wedding film that your kids and grandkids can look back on and be like “man, that’s not just a beautiful wedding, but that is a marriage I want to emulate”. We are most proud of the connection we have with our couples. We ask you a lot of questions and try to get to know you truly on a personal level so we can give you a film that you connect with on a deep level. We feel this really sets us apart, to us, it isn’t a transaction, its a relationship built.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
So many! We just genuinely love when our couples send us screenshots of them watching their films, on their anniversaries or just because! It sets our soul on fire knowing they have something so special to watch & remember what their wedding truly meant.
