Today we’d like to introduce you to Luy Nguyen.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Luy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was born in Vietnam and immigrated to the USA in 2006. I graduated with a degree in Physics in Vietnam but once I arrived I was unable to utilize my degree so I had to start over. Although I studied English, it was difficult for me to get a job so I decided to get my license as a nail technician.
For four years I worked in a nail salon until I was able to save up enough money to own my own. Once I had owned a salon for a few years I decided to open a second nail salon called Wynn Nail Bar in Royse City.
I continued to work hard daily, saving money while raising my three children. In 2017 I decided to close down my first nail salon to focus on the Wynn Nail Bar and my new venture… Jazen Tea.
Venturing into another business model was something that intrigued me. After much research, the Jazen Tea franchising concept attracted my attention. With a flexible business model and ongoing support for marketing and operations through Jazen Tea headquarters, I was ready to dive right in. Once I was able to understand the brand, support from corporate, and the business model I decided to open the very first Jazen Tea in Dallas selling fresh brewed tea with fresh fruits.
I’m truly grateful for the Dallas community’s support of my business and helping me build my American Dream as well as the support from my family, friends and loved ones.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Smooth? It is never truly smooth when you open a business. Anything can go wrong from equipment to buildout to getting approval from the city. The only true difficulty was not understanding the industry of food and drinks compared to my knowledge of nail salon.
Fortunately for me, the staff at Jazen Tea corporate walked me through the entire process and helped me along the way. Although I had little knowledge in opening a tea shop, the company was able to provide me with a step by step road map and communicated with me on a regular basis throughout the process even til today.
From operations in ordering all the equipment’s to the franchising support in assisting with the schematics and build out; the team made me feel at ease. Leading up to our grand opening, the marketing team handled all the social media aspect, designs and promotions to assist in a successful event.
They definitely made the process smoother and less stressful with a full team supporting you every step of the way.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Jazen Tea story. Tell us more about the business.
Jazen Tea is a boba tea shop serving freshly brewed tea made with real fruit bits and high quality tea leaves. The company is headquartered in California with 19 locations in the USA and Canada. Continue expansion of the brand is occurring on an annual basis.
Our teas are brewed daily and fresh fruits are used in making our drinks. Our milk teas are lactose free and our fruits are sourced locally. Our drinks are refreshingly good, carefully crafted and made to order. We continue to strive to stay fresh through our recipes and products.
