Meet Madison Hardy of Bodied by Maddie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Madison Hardy.

Madison, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Bodied by Maddie started as a one-stop shop for all things weight loss, workout, & skin care related in 2015. We offered waist trainers, detox beverages, weight loss supplements, soap bars, skin tightening creams, salt scrubs, eye serum and so much more. It was a bit much & we decided to take a break to refocus & rebrand after two years of really just getting by. Our relaunch was May 2018 focusing solely on skincare & it’s so rewarding. We offer organic & safe to use skin care products at affordable prices to people who need them! We’re now connecting with our clients to give much-needed solutions to their skin problems.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth? Not at all. Honestly finding our true customer base & staying away from typical trends has been truly challenging. When people hear ‘homemade bath & body products ‘ they think watery lotions, cheesy bath bombs, & super fragrant chemical ridden products. They’re cute. Fun. Trendy. Usually, make good teacher’s gifts or Xmas present for your 2nd cousin. But what if they were actually beneficial?? The watery based lotion was a mixture of Shea, mango, & cocoa butter instead. The bath bomb is a is made with Epsom & sea salts, lavender, & earthy clays to detox & relax you. That’s the difference! That’s Bodied by Maddie.

Please tell us about Bodied by Maddie.
Bodied by Maddie offers luxury skin care products for the low. We have organic & safe to use items that help with eczema, psoriasis, & other skin ailments. We have a popular bar named The Organic Bar that helps to clear up & keep away eczema. This bar is packed with different natural antibacterial ingredients that are key to keeping clear skin. I’m most proud to be able to help as many people as we have & we’ll continue to do. We try to donate supplies or resources whenever we can in DFW. Whether it’s a family in need or a nonprofit, we try to help where we can with supplies & resources. We’re set apart by the way we’re able to connect with people. We don’t limit ourselves to just online or just in store connections. We’re not afraid to go where the people are! We’ve been to vendor events, radio stations, & even passed out samples at Big T. W

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
When I got my first & only pet. A miniature poodle named Queen ☺️ I was like 7 or 8 I think. My mama made me believe we were adopting a Caucasian baby. Nothing wrong with that. I’m just not Caucasian so I was confused. We walked into a house & there was a dog. I played with it for about 15mins when my mom said it was time to go. As we were leaving, I asked about the Caucasian baby. The homeowner, who was Caucasian, obviously had no idea what I was talking about. My mom explained & the woman laughed while she put together Queen’s items. My mama filled me in & I burst out crying. Tears of joy, or relief? Idk. But I had a miniature toy poodle named Queen so I was good.
