Today we’d like to introduce you to Mr. Centers.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
After graduating from SFA (Stephen F. Austin State University), I started working full time for a local mortgage lender, but in my spare time I would buy and sell sneakers (Jordans, Yeezys, etc..). Some time had passed, and I ended up crossing paths with a few Hypebeast online who would take really cool photos promoting exclusive sneakers and highly sought after clothing.
I liked the clothes and shoes they took photos of, but I felt like there was something missing, that I could provide, if I were to start shooting my own shots… In May of 2018, I took the leap of faith and bought a Nikon D750 with the money I had saved from selling sneakers. In late June 2018, a cousin of mine suggested we attend an event called SneakerCon, and that I should bring my camera to practice.
When we got there, I immediately started to network and volunteer to take pictures of some of the hottest kicks on the market for some of the collectors in attendance. After the event, I decided to take pictures of my personal collection and post them on IG.
At the end of July 2018, I posted an offer for a free photoshoot to solicit my services. Sure enough, people started to inquire, and that’s what got the ball rolling Still not where I aspire to be, but I am enjoying the process. While appreciating all of those who continue to help and support me.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
YES! I can’t complain too much about this Journey. I have not had much to complain about. Sure, there has been a number of times I bumped my head. I still face challenges to this day. In fact, a few months back I had a done a photoshoot with a model whose pictures took DAYS to edit.
Just to have her tell me that she did not like a single photo and was not going to post them. Ultimately, I was able to rectify the situation. For me, challenges like that I count as a win-win. I get to gain an ally and improve my skills all at once. It’s all about your perspective, you know?
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Cue Visuals story. Tell us more about the business.
I am a photographer that specializes in model promotion, events, and sneaker branding and photo manipulation. What separates Cue Visuals from the pack is simple. Its all about the client experience.
We know people like things done easily, and they also want to have fun. Figured we can’t go wrong if we set out to actuate good memories while accommodating a seamless experience.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I wouldn’t say luck per se. Sure it sounds cliche. But everything happens for a reason. The universe makes no mistakes haha.
