Today we’d like to introduce you to Parimala Deshpande.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Parimala. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have been a podcast listener and wanted to create a place where women inspire each other through their stories. As a legal immigrant, when I first moved to the US, my visa did not allow me to take up a paid job. Leaving behind a career in banking, and staying home took away my financial independence and I started feeling less confident socially and emotionally. I needed to hear from people who are like me. But unfortunately, it was not easy to meet people that I was looking for.
I decided to overcome my challenges and make it easier for other women in my boat. I now host a Podcast called “thehustlegirl show” where I interview women achievers who legally migrated to the US, working or running their own business. It is not easy to leave behind career, while also adapting to a new culture, language is very challenging. Specially for women who migrate here because of their spouse’s employment. Women go through many life-changing situations, which sometimes makes it difficult for them to pursue their dreams/career.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not really. Podcasting is the next big thing when it comes to branding your business.
I sometimes have challenge educating people why they have to consider creating a podcast for their business.
Creating awareness about it and demonstrating it to people, takes a lot of time and effort.
