Meet Ricky Hernandez of Ricky Rustics in Design District

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ricky Hernandez.

Ricky, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I sold my lumber business in Mexico in 2009. I decided to manufacture painted rustic furniture, although some vendors said there was no demand for that style of furniture!

In 2013, I opened a distributorship in Dallas because I felt that this area could accommodate a new look for this type of rustic painted furniture. In the past four years, we have gotten more creative and added successful new painted lines as well as with copper, nails, metal, and even slate!! With our faithful employees, we have given our customers good and honest service. The Lord has helped us grow from nothing and hope that we can maintain our position as credible leaders in this industry!!!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Financing and technological updates!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Ricky Rustics – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We have a 20,000 sq., ft. warehouse with furniture in rows and up to the ceiling. We are conveniently a few blocks from the Dallas Trade Center. Customers can place orders or personally come shop for what they need. Our staff of sales employees, and myself, will walk the warehouse and help you with your order. We are trying to sustain enough quantities so the client can purchase on the spot and not have to wait five or six weeks for their purchases!!!

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We are growing fairly fast and feel we will need a 60,000 sq. ft. warehouse in the near future.
