Meet Shelsea Sanchez of Peachyality

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shelsea Sanchez.

Hi Shelsea, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always been driven by a passion for inspiring & empowering others and have been in the beauty & wellness industry over 15 years. I was a former IFBB Bikini Pro Athlete, personal trainer, and eyelash extension salon owner, Peachy Keen Studio, for over a decade. I’ve always had a passion for both industries, fitness and beauty, and during the last few years at Peachy Keen Studio, I merged my love for both by throwing community events like makeup classes to fitness and even meditation events. I learned so much through trial and error while on my entrepreneurial journey and felt very alone at the beginning and found myself wishing I had a mentor. I never went to business school or took any classes on branding so I struggled with Imposter Syndrome at times, but expanding to a full-fledged salon with a team of employees allowed me to grow through real-life lived in experiences and gave me so much more confidence. After hiring my first employee, I knew I wanted to share my knowledge with other female founders in the future. In November 2019, I started the process of writing a course to help others build a brand. I believe things happen in divine timing and when the 2020 Pandemic first hit, our salon was mandated to close for a couple of months.

I took advantage of the pause and started writing the course and after doing some self-reflecting and re-evaluating where I saw myself in the future, I decided to take the courageous leap of faith of pivoting full time into the virtual space. Later that month, I started my new venture Peachyality a conscious lifestyle, wellness and beauty brand for leaders and started the beta run of my first online course Build a Heart Centered Brand, The Peachy Way to officially launching November 2020. The course is one of my creative vehicles that empowers other women to tap into their divine purpose to start their brand. Through the Peachy Way, I’ve been able to create the kind of nurturing environment I wished I’d had during the early years of my entrepreneurial journey — and demonstrating that when you lead with love, business can be about so much more than just making money. I knew I wanted to continue having communal events and in April 2021, I launched Commune + Bloom, Peachyality’s event experiences for women to connect, expand and break barriers. Making the pivot last year gave me the flexibility to continue doing what I love, serving and empowering my community but allowing me to do it in a bigger setting to make a bigger impact. As I’ve always said “ The vehicle may change, the mission remains the same”.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I wouldn’t say it has been the smoothest road but being an entrepreneur for over a decade now, I now make space for nonlinear plans. Growth in general is nonlinear. Walking away from a full-time income to a start-up is a struggle because you sacrifice a lot of things you used to do and have. There have been moments where I took a step forward and two steps back sometimes three. There were days where I didn’t want to get out of bed because I was still grieving my former salon. There were many times where it was crickets when I put myself out there but I kept showing up. Every time I had been close to throwing in the towel, a miracle would happen as a reminder to keep going. I’m still in the start-up phase and will keep showing up as long as I am loving what I’m doing. I think the most important part of going through any struggle is to remember to not identify with the struggle. Always use it as a learning lesson when things don’t go as you plan because when you harvest the lesson and know better, you do better.

As you know, we’re big fans of Peachyality. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Peachyality is a conscious lifestyle, wellness and beauty brand for leaders. A space to commune, bloom and break barriers. We are mission-driven and host creative workshops, courses and experiences to empower our community in a fun environment.

We are most proud of helping brands lead with their hearts so that they can continue to make ripple effects of love for the world.

We offer team bonding experiences to build camaraderie incorporating Ceremonial Cacao and Meditation sound baths for businesses.

Through our Commune + Bloom experiences, we’re able to create a fun experience that always highlights and connects other business owners.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
For anyone starting out, remember that happiness comes from within. Work intentionally focusing on happiness from within and the byproduct ends up being success. As cliche as it sounds, you have to put more of your focus on the journey rather than the outcome or you’ll never be fulfilled. What I have learned from starting a new career that is completely different than what I had been doing for a decade is that every pro was once an amateur and you can figure things out if you’re willing to show up courageously. With courage, unshakable trust, and conviction, I believe you can make things happen beyond your wildest dreams. Grow with the flow, take steps within arms reach and before you know it, you’re doing the thing. You are worthy just as you are!
