Meet Stephanie Sanders of Orange Theory Fitness and I Feel Pretty Womens Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Sanders.

Stephanie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
As long as I can remember, I’ve always had a passion for motivating and inspiring others. In my 25 plus year in corporate finance and accounting, I was best known for helping, training, and leading others. I’ve been in ministries at church that also allowed me to mentor, train, and lead others.

A few years I decided to get a part-time job to help my son with his college expenses. I knew I wanted it to be completely different from my full-time finance job. I had created a vision board and on it, I put the words “motivate, “inspire,” and trainer. Eventually, those words manifested into me becoming a certified personal trainer at Orangetheory Fitness and founding my non Profit I Feel Pretty Women’s group. Both us of those took a considerable leap of faith to start. However, it’s exceeded my expectations in the amount of opportunities to motivate and inspire others. I’m currently working on something else to help others as I’m in the process of getting certified to become a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones.

Has it been a smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Some of the struggles that are most surprising is support not coming from those you relied upon most. My non-profit had its first major event in August and the amount of time that it took for me to plan and successfully complete that was unimaginable. The two people on my board of directors completely abandoned me as we got closer to the event. For the personal training and Financial Advisor opportunities, it takes a considerable amount of studying, focus, and dedication to obtain the licenses and certifications.

Another struggle was getting out of my own head and not having feelings of self-doubt or wondering if all of my efforts would be in vain.

Please tell us about Orange Theory Fitness and I Feel Pretty Women’s Group.
My nonprofit I feel Pretty Women’ Group, was created to bring events and activities to the community that will help women eliminate their insecurities, elevate their emotional and spiritual health, discover their significance in the world, and live fearlessly by feeling pretty from within. We have done this so far with a Mother’s Day toiletry and clothing drive for those less fortunate. I was beyond excited with the number of items collected. This past summer, I was blown away by getting to do a sponsorship with the Epic Theatre in Grand Prairie for the I Feel Pretty Women’s Day. Over 50 ladies attended to learn how to “Live Life Outside Your Comfort Zone.”

Orangetheory Fitness – I gets to lead up to 24 clients on a one-hour high intensity, circuit training workout. Sometimes I’m almost in tears with joy when I see members over time transform to meet their health and fitness goals. The feedback I get from my members on how much they rely on me to motivate and inspire them to do more than they thought makes my heart smile.

Edward Jones – I just started there but feel it will somewhat be a continuation of leading others at Orangetheory. However, instead of leading others along their health and wellness journey, I will be beside them with their financial health goals. The thing that will always set me apart in everything I do is my passion. My passion to help others be their best, my passion for personal growth and change, and my passion to leave a legacy to my son.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Wow! That’s a great question! I don’t really know other than I hope it keeps expanding as more people are concerned about emotional/mental, physical, and financial health. With me having a foothold in all three of those things, I hope it leads me to do more conferences and public speaking events. I don’t think the world will ever get tired or not interested in their emotional/mental, physical, and financial well being.
