Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Johnson.
Tiffany, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Since I can remember, I have always wanted to be my own BOSS! As the only girl of three children, I spent a lot of time to myself, crafting, reading, learning, and manifesting. My dad was an engineer, my mom, a seamstress/crafter. My mom taught me a lot when it came to fashion. I watched her created things listed in magazines to prom dresses. I inherited a sewing machine from my MawMaw when I was 13 and I began making my own pieces. My parents weren’t the type to buy us all the things a kid could want so in order to keep up with my peers I became resourceful. I remember making a matching purse and skirt set from some old pairs of denims I got from my older cousin. Before I could make it to 3rd period, my skirt started ripping lol I had to use safety pins to keep it together but hey, that’s FASHION lol.
By my senior year in high school, I had done enough researched and found that The University of Houston was the only school in Texas that offered a degree in entrepreneurship, which was fine for me because I didn’t want to go to far off to college. Due to receiving a Track and Field scholarship, I ended up at the Northwestern State University of Louisiana, majoring in Fashion Merchandising.
In 2015 while pregnant with my son, I attended Tint Cosmetology to obtain my license in a manicurist. The passion for nails develops for me over the years as I had always been a loyal and faithful client to acrylic sets. I’m a nail bitter and growing up, my nails were naturally brown and I was insecure. So the moment I could wear nails, I did and never stopped. I understood how nail services could enhance a person’s self-esteem and hygiene and sought out to add it to my list of gifts. It also gave me another outlet to create art.
Life took a toll and sidetracked me for a few years, but becoming a full-time single mom is was pushed me even harder. I attempted to launch an online boutique in September of 2019 but was not successful due to a lack of marketing and timing. I began providing lash extensions services in December 2019. I had no idea how successful I’d become. I believed in myself and that’s all I remember. Because I never truly give up. In August of this year, I relaunched my site in hopes of a more successful go-round.
Has it been a smooth road?
Nothing great comes easy, they say and that I truly believe. As a single mother, you are often told that your dreams have to wait but that isn’t always true. My children and I have faced homeless, we have been at the bottom and one thing for sure we will never go back. Before I made the leap of faith to become my own boss, I worked for the lowest amount I had ever been paid and worked the craziest hours I had ever worked. Literally up at 4 am to catch a bus that only took me halfway to work and I walked On foot another mile to make it by six. I knew what it meant to work extremely hard for nothing. It was then that I learned how much integrity I had and how driven I could be and if I could only apply that to my own business, how successful could I truly be?! I knew I was capable and qualified for better and I knew I had to be the one to create that for myself.
We’d love to hear more about your business.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Dallas is definitely a land of opportunity. They’re so many ways to network and market. So many ways to learn. So many people to meet. So many places to go to. I would definitely recommend someone who’s interested in starting a business to seek Dallas. If you have passion, quality, and service, Dallas will be good to you.
