Today we’d like to introduce you to Wezzy Fields.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Wezzy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started my journey in my 11th or 12th-grade year of HS. A young athletic kid that hung with “popular kids” of the school. Quiet but entertaining. While pursuing the 1st love of my like (football). I started to pick up a different love, a different passion that I have always been interested in, but never knew how, or what, or even when. Music, the creativity one has to have. The articulic mind one has to have to make something you listen to, something people in the community can relate to as well as fall in love with.
Pushing forward, I was awarded a scholarship to continue playing my first love as well as work toward getting a degree in the process. By any means, I made it harder than it should be. But I still worked on learning music, becoming an artist, and polishing my craft in-between times. Mix this time in with, peer pressure, relationships, friendships, adulting, stress, failures, success, doubt heartaches, family, and yourself. It can only steer you two ways, to quit or stand behind what you believe in. To this day, sparking back from 2011-2012, my craft has been polished, my sound has been created, and I have found myself. Some tell me this is the best form of me, the best version of me. I stood and still stand behind what makes me happy and what I believe can make my future. I heard someone say, find what you love to do, find out how to make money in what you love to do, and now you love what you do and it makes your pockets happy too.
Has it been a smooth road?
No road is smooth for any person who is chasing success or successful now. I come from a two parent home who still struggled to maintain in the economy. I experienced being broke, falling in love, breaking hearts, legal troubles, and also the other side, like defining the odds and proving people wrong.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am an artist, that’s my business, and I want my name to be a brand that makes money. I have a personality that I would like to present to the world and see if it relates to others. I think different and move differently too. I handle life differently than others, and that alone sets me apart.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Well if we talking about Dallas, I love the nightlife in Dallas and the women out there got some abilities in the bedroom lol. Real-life freaks for real. I don’t have any dislikes, maybe the traffic. But that’s everywhere. As far as Austin: My City. It’s different like you’ll see the weird people and in my opinion, Austin has a bunch of pro-weed smokers. Like the city, just be high and about. Real-life hungry, sleepy, happy. We have amazing food and the weird thing about Austin is good food, comes from food trucks. People will ask, what are some good food spots, and we give you food trucks. They’re booming here. The thing I like least is the cost of living, not so much of the expansion of the city but the cost of living.
