Life and Work with Karina San Diego

Today we’d like to introduce you to Karina San Diego.

Karina, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m new to Dallas! Having moved here at the start of the year, I immediately realized that Dallas has so much to offer and explore. I knew that I wanted to share my adventures in discovering this incredible city and I decided to use my blog to post the photos and stories of all the amazing places I’ve experienced. That is why my blog Karina Discovers Dallas was born!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the best pieces of advice I’ve ever heard was, “Just do your thing! You don’t need permission. You just have to decide.” When I first decided to start blogging, I knew it was something I wanted to do but did not know if anyone would read my posts or like my content. It held me back for a while until I realized that if I wanted to do this, I should just go for it. I’ve always been an over-sharer and this was the perfect platform for me to write and share my photos. I’m so glad, I did!

I have learned along the way that blogging is as smooth as you decide to make it. If you decide to “make your thing”, do it and be consistent. Set schedules, plan content, and do what brings you joy. Write out ten posts and if you can’t easily write ten, then perhaps you’re not doing what you love. Find your niche and have fun with it!

Please tell us about Karina Discovers Dallas.
I have been a photographer for several years now and have a passion for photography! I really enjoy finding opportunities to take photos of my adventures, take photos of the products that I love, and take photos of the people that I love. What I love most about my blog is that it is all about things that I enjoy, and the process of sharing these adventures makes me giddy! I think that is what sets me apart from others – I only share things that bring me joy and I do it because I want others to share in that joy with me.

Who have you been inspired by?
I come from a long line of strong women who have overcome incredible adversities. All of their stories end in success because they worked incredibly hard to achieve their goals and had the support of other women. Their stories are reminders of the strength we have as women and the strength we can gain from supporting each other. That is why I find inspiration from every single woman in my life. When we share our stories, build each other up, and support each other – we create a ripple of positivity and an opportunity to inspire the women around us.
