Life and Work with Gabby Nieto

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabby Nieto.

Gabby, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started this journey back in 2009 on YouTube and in 2011 on Instagram. It all started with my passion for makeup and evolved into a lifestyle. I started on YouTube posting makeup tutorials, favorite videos and hauls. My channel has turned into a place where I now showcase life moment in vlogs, share my thoughts and finds through my hauls and much more. My Instagram was a place where I kept in touch with friends, now it’s a place where I can still keep in touch but share my travels with my followers who have turned into my friends. Though all my social media platforms, I have showcased my best work, I have also shown who I am and kept it real with my followers and that’s is what has made me who I am today. I don’t post as often as I used to because you all know life happens. I love what I do and I’m glad I have a place where I can share life’s specials moments.

Has it been a smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. You hit those bumps on the road such has hate comments. I read every single one of the comments left on any of my social media sites and I have learned to not give too much attention to them. I can’t lie some do get under your skin but you just have to be tough about it and just brush them off. I have learned to take all the criticism and learn to better myself and my techniques. To all the young women who are just starting out on this journey, I would say just be yourself and just enjoy what you are doing. The internet can be a scary place but also a wonderful place to be a part of. Engage with your followers, they are the ones who support you and who knows you may meet your online best friend or friends.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Gahbrezzy – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am a full-time graphic designer and a vlogger/blogger. I love that I have created a platform where my followers can talk to me like one of their friends. I love reading comments and engaging with my followers. What sets me apart from others is that I am a down to earth person that will put everything aside to help anyone out. If I can help someone else succeed in their career, I have done my job.

There’s a wealth of academic research that suggests that lack of mentors and networking opportunities for women has materially affected the number of women in leadership roles. Smart organizations and industry leaders are working to change this, but in the meantime, do you have any advice for finding a mentor and building a network?
I, myself, am a very shy person so it’s not easy for me to network with people but I do have to put myself out there. I like to leave comments on the people I follow Instagrams or YouTube channel. Most of the time they will comment back and that’s where I network with other influencers. You just have to find what works for you when you network.
