Meet Marr Aragon of Oh My Marr in Dallas Forth Worth Area

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marr Aragon.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Marr. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve always been a writer and an avid reader. I’ve always wanted to create & share. And fashion & beauty have been a constant passion of mine. All of these things kind of manifested themselves for such a long time. And now I’ve suddenly found myself here, talking about my lifestyle blog (which I actually launched just this summer) and I think that’s crazy (in the BEST way possible)!

I’ve always been an introvert, so I’ve been quite the observer for many years. Throughout high school, I lacked the courage to share much of my thoughts and ideas with others. I think much of my lack of self-confidence had to do a lot with my home life where I really wasn’t encouraged to share what my thoughts were which lead me to indulge in creative outlets like music, writing, and reading.

During my time at university, much of where we all discover (most of) ourselves, I found that I’m actually an ambivert: I love gathering with other people but I also find much of my peace, exploring the world on my own. I think at the time of this realization was when I truly grasped the courage to finally do what I wanted to do and that was to create and share.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It’s definitely not been the smoothest road.

Much of the struggles that I’ve encountered in the beginning really stemmed from the fact that I’ve never had any web design knowledge or media production experience. Asking questions was never something I was ashamed of; if I don’t know something, I’ll definitely say so and so that’s what I did. It wasn’t hard to find a community in the blogsphere at all; the issue was finding the right one. So I asked other creatives and reached out to other bloggers in my area who were willing to shed some words of wisdom.

There’s so much information that makes it to you when you actively search for answers and latching on to one idea of success can be quite easy. So center yourself and really think about the information that’s being handed to you – how can you use that to better present the awesome person that you already are?

We’d love to hear more about your business.
So I’m a lifestyle blogger. I talk about “all things fashion, beauty, lifestyle and everything in between.” On top of writing about my chosen niche, I talk about other areas of life as well. I plan to cover cultural and faith-filled experiences. I want to start life conversations with my audience on my blog. I want my content to be a source of inspiration as well as a conversation. I want my readers to find my pieces to be helpful but also enjoyable and relatable.

I started this blog to write about what inspires me and what I’m curious about (which then fuels my curiosity for other things) hence my blog’s tagline, “naturally curious about everything.” I’m all about exploring yourself, the world, and those around you. As I write, I want to encourage that sense of exploration within my audience. The blog is as much for the readers as it is for the blogger in this way.

What were you like growing up?
Before moving to the United States with my family from the Philippines, I didn’t have many toys but I made due with what I did have. I guess you could say, that was a way for my imagination to really grow. I loved to paint and draw and when I learned how to write, I wrote stories to compliment those paintings. When we got settled into our lives in the U.S., that’s when my love for books started to grow which then inspired me to write more. Little Marjorie even drafted the first few chapters of a story she thought she wanted to get published.

Musically speaking, I loved to sing and play the piano. I wasn’t the best but I loved learning an instrument so much that I even picked up the violin and for the next six years that was what I loved doing. I truly loved to create, no matter what it was.

Even though I was rather introverted during this time, I was able to really cultivate my love for the arts. And though they were strict on me growing up, I really thank my parents for being supportive of me participating in these creative outlets.
