Meet Cinzia Ballou in Uptown Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cinzia Ballou.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Cinzia. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I always had a passion for dance and fitness growing up, but I decided to take it a step further and had a sensation to want to help others reach their dance and fitness goals. My first format to get certified in was Zumba and then from there it evolved even more as I fell in love with HIIT Cardio, weight training and then I found my love for yoga two years ago taking “Yoga With Adrienne” YouTube Yoga videos at home and I knew from there I wanted to learn more about the mind-body through various yoga practices. I continued to take yoga classes in the Dallas community and on YouTube furthering my knowledge and challenging myself at home in my practices. Yoga really helped me find myself and listen more to my intuition. Then I wanted to challenge myself even more and got certified in Pop Pilates working on totally body strengthening and Pilates to the music.

I’ve met so many amazing beautiful people along this journey in fitness and health and I know this is my true passion to give back to others by inspiring them to tap into that strong, confident and beautiful person they were born to be. When it comes to the health side, I started my vegan plant-based blog when I realized I had an autoimmune disorder and I had to make a change in my eating if I wanted to improve my health. Being a foodie and loving all things cajun and southern comfort food, I knew transitioning to vegan was going to be a challenge for me. Thanks to many vegan forums and Pinterest, I was able to recreate plant-based food to taste just as flavorful and soulful. I posted my story on my vegan lifestyle that was sparked by my autoimmune disorder and soon figured out I wasn’t the only one going through this. There were so many people out there who were also battling health issues. So I knew from that point I wanted to help and inspire others to improve their health just as I did.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely been a rocky road, especially during this past year. My mom passed away and my entire life changed. I questioned my purpose in life, my fitness and health journey and so much more. I took a few months off from teaching classes and posting recipes just to clear my mind and get more grounded. After a few months, I realized my mom wanted me to continue to keep inspiring others and being a light for those who are also hurting and going through obstacles in life. I then found my purpose again, to spread my love and energy to the universe and to know that we are all going to have challenges, but its the fight and strength within us all that we use to continue to push and reach our unlimited potential.

What are your most known for?
I am known for being a Fitness and Health Enthusiast. I work for Rise Nation and Yoga pod as a fitness instructor. I am most proud of my strength to push through life after my moms passing and continue to motivate and help the world through fitness and healthy eating tips and tricks. What sets me apart from others is my energy and optimism in life. I have the ability to see the good in everyone regardless of their past and actions. I spread love and light wherever I go and always love growing and learning everyday.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Reversing my autoimmune disorder through implementing a plant-based lifestyle.
