Today we’d like to introduce you to JP Piccinini.
JP, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started selling real estate in South Carolina in 2004 after “retiring” from the corporate world where I was an engineering project manager. I fell in love with the business after I realized it fueled my entrepreneurial spirit.
I quickly became very accomplished and a top producer. Enjoyed South Carolina but it wasn’t our forever home.
The family decided to move back to Texas in 2010 to grow our real estate business and be close to family.
So after getting my broker license here’s in Texas, I started JP and Associates REALTORS (JPAR) In October of 2011. It was three of us at the time and we operated from my home. I was the accountant, mentor, trainer, top producing agent…etc. Today we sponsor over 700 agents and operate 12 offices in DFW and several others across Texas and the US with sales in excess of a billion dollars and growing daily.
Has it been a smooth road?
We have had a fun ride for sure. The issue is and will always be talent attraction.
We built this company and continue to build this company by hiring amazing people who share the same passion, vision and goal as we do.
The struggle is always for finding great agents and great staff to fuel our growth.
We don’t hire just anyone with a license and we hire based on personality and attitude. Finding the right fit for our mold is and will be a constant struggle.
So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the JP and Associates REALTORS story. Tell us more about the business.
We are a real estate brokerage who specializes in residential real estate sales.
How we set ourselves apart from your traditional brokerages is first of all our commission structure – our agents keep 100% of their commission and we just charge a transaction management fee without any other fees – period.
What makes JPAR successful is our culture of productivity and service.
We don’t hire part time agents as a result and we only retain agents who sell at least a minimum of six homes a year.
The other aspect of our culture is service – to say our agents have big hearts would be greatly undermining their commitment to each other, our company but most importantly our communities. We give back to all those around us – we truly feel the key to our success is sharing our success with those that haven’t been so fortunate yet.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Real estate is very market specific. Speaking about DFW, I feel strongly about the market continuing to climb and hold steady for another 4-5 year before we see declining sales and prices.
The big shift will be house affordability here that will reduce the size of homes we are accustomed to selling and buying.
