Today we’d like to introduce you to AmberBee.
So, before we jump into specific questions about your work, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
At the age 11, I lost my father to many health issues. Before my he passed away he dropped many gems on me that I didnt understand until a later time in life. Recently my Uncle and I were having a conversation and he stated to me “Amber your father watched you as a young girl and advised me that you would be someone big when you got older”. When he stated those words to me, it gave me chills and from that point on I made a promise to myself and to my dad, that I will never give up and continue to grow.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth ride on this journey. Breaking into the music scene in Dallas is quite difficult especially for a female rapper. Anyone from the music industry will tell you it takes a while to reap your benefits in the industry. Being in a predominately male industry, it can be harder and you have to prove yourself differently. Your foundation has to be solid.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with you as an artist– tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
My most proud moment is going to April of 2017 and meeting with an A&R for Atlantic record. The conversation he and I had really gave me fire to keep going. The I also met the music mogul JayHatch where he later flew down to Dallas and invited me out to an event he was hosting and there connected me with many producers, DJs, and other artist. What sets me apart is everything I do and my entire brand from my fashion, to my style of music, etc.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I have many things planned out for the rest of the year to go out with a bang. Continue to drop singles and visuals until the end of the year.
