Meet Jasmine Bryant of Art Vibes Only in Dallas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Bryant.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jasmine. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was born and raised in the Bronx and moved to Dallas while in high school. I attended SFASU where I studied art and discovered my love for painting. Once I graduated in 2013, I stopped painting. In 2017, I started painting again and was encouraged to participate in the October 2017 Pancakes and Booze show in Dallas. It was a successful night for me and I started to become a part of the Dallas art scene. I met many local artists began networking. In February, I hosted my first solo art show which is where I expanded my craft to putting my work on coasters. After my solo show, I participated in many art shows – TrapxArt, Pancakes and Booze, Ladies N Art Show, etc. In September, I purchased my own heat press and expanded my merchandise to wearable art, stickers, coasters, lighters, etc. Since then, I launched artvibesonly.net and have been a vendor at many events.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My biggest struggles I have had as an artist are financially supporting my art (art supplies are not cheap) and artist block. I stopped painting when I graduated college in 2013 and was uninspired for four years before I picked up a paintbrush again. After my solo show as well, I did not paint for four months.

A big struggle I believe is learning to create what you want and when you want versus feeling the need to mass create – which for me causes me to produce subpar work.

Alright – so let’s talk about your work. Tell us about Art Vibes Only – what should we know?
Art Vibes Only is my brand. I am a painter and graphic designer that creates original pieces encompassing people, their bodies, and moods. I aim to be an artist a and brand that has something for everyone. I would love for everyone to be able to come to my table or website with $1 and be able to leave with something.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My parents, Michael and Doris, and my Nana, Sharon, have been my biggest cheerleaders throughout my art career. From helping me monetarily with purchasing supplies or coming to my shows. I also have great friends who support me and come to almost every show I have.
