Today we’d like to introduce you to Nikki Nuckols.
Nikki, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
After working with various Dallas ad agencies and gaining experience in account management, art direction and web development, I felt like there was something missing. I had a passion for small business and entrepreneurship that wasn’t being met. So, I began taking on a few freelance projects from time-to-time with small businesses around DFW, and as they say, the rest was history. One client lead to another, and before I knew it, I was doing more freelance work than I ever thought possible and was ready to go full time. Within a year I was hiring my first employee and the business was taking shape. Today, Doodle Dog is made up of a team of dedicated designers, developers and strategist who help businesses find their brand personality, identity and virtual home.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
For the most part, it’s been a pretty smooth ride. I couldn’t ask for better clients, more creative projects or better opportunities. The biggest challenge thus far has been fine-tuning the process. We want our clients to not only enjoy the end product, but also the experience of working with us, so creating a seamless process is key! We’ve made huge strides in doing this. We’ve created a propriety project management portal for our clients to use to track where we are with their project, provide details to us and receive communication from us. Our client (and team) love it!

We specialize in creating brands and website for creative businesses. We design with a strategic approach to ensure that we’re not just putting a pretty face on a site – but also creating a marketing tool to help increase ROI.
