Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra Gatlin.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My journey started as a freshman in high school when I decided to take an entrepreneur class, and decided that my love for all things beauty was going to be how I made my mark on the world. It wasn’t until after giving birth to my son that I decided to freelance with makeup, with the help of family I became connected to attendees of the Maragarita Ball, and from there my business started to take off.
I am in love with all things makeup including special effects makeup which I like to do during Halloween, after a few years of freelancing I decided to become certified in Microblading, which then led me to nails. The freedom to express my creativity and interact with women in so many various ways brings me so much joy. Poise was born through my love for my city and the luxury culture here.
I offer artisanal Pedicures one of which contains a champagne foot rinse, and fresh flowers are used in all my foot baths. You won’t find your traditional pedicure at Poise. I also offer all the latest trends in the nail world. When you come for your service, you will be greeted with refreshments and bubbles. Luxury and Quality are number one, and I welcome you to come, experience it for yourself.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The journey has not been easy, as I am a mother of four, two of which I gave birth two while trying to run my business.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I plan to be the most well known Full-service salon here in Dallas. We plan to move to a bigger location in a year. And it won’t be like anything seen here before
