Meet Brian “Tex” Dixon of Dixon Bartending

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brian “Tex” Dixon.

Brian, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started my journey into entrepreneurship a little over four years ago. Thru that I begin getting personal development & found, embraced & stepped into what I think is my calling to be a servant. I am 1 of the people that never meets a stranger, so I decided to go to bartending school & after completing school I was turned down for over 50 bartending jobs, so I decided to start my own mobile bartending company. My proudest moment would have to be my bro DJ Maxie wedding reception because that was my 1st event as a bartender & secondly being the resident bartender on the hottest up & coming web series on YouTube called 1st & 15th TV with my bro Cap Hill. Love those guys the gave me a shot & believed in me along with family & friends.

Has it been a smooth road?
Of course not. I was turned down for over 50 bartending jobs so I decided instead of getting bitter I would just get better. Majority of the jobs I applied for wanted a minimum of 1-year bartending experience, so I figured instead of working for someone else to create a year of experience to continue working for someone else, I could put that same amount of time & energy into my own business. I was getting frustrated with needing 1-year experience & no one gave me a chance or shot to get the 1-year experience. You start to question yourself about certain decisions, 2nd guess yourself, hear the chitter chatter & things of that nature, but you have to Keep Pushin!!!

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I am a bartender/owner of Dixon Bartending. We provide a professional & prompt mobile service for all of your event needs. Our services include events of all sizes including but not limited to wedding receptions, adult & kid birthday parties, family reunions, office parties, private events, house parties, graduation parties, etc. Our service is not limited to only events where alcohol will be served. We also create custom drinks for our clients as well attempt to help our clients control beverage cost by strategically planning per the number of attendees for their event. I think that’s what sets me apart & what I’m most proud of, exceeding our clients bartending needs. Some people want to get as much money as they can out of a client, but we want to build a reputable relationship with everyone we provide service for.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, I do. For one it’s not an oversaturation of mobile bartending companies. Dallas is a great place to start anything. I never knew how in demand bartenders were until I became one. There are so many opportunities, so many different avenues to take & a bunch of great people to meet.
