Meet Victor Vonico Johnson of Nico Don Projects in Carrollton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victor Vonico Johnson.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Victor Vonico. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I grew up in the Bay Area (Oakland/San Francisco), California during the 1980s to a single mother, on a limited income. As a youth in a tough area of the country, it was important for me to always visualize the life that I wanted for myself, rather than ACCEPT THE LIFE THAT WAS AROUND ME. Eventually, I moved to Atlanta, GA as a young male and immediately started having children, instead of attending college. This put me in a situation where I had to continue gaining knowledge from somewhere else; therefore, I became a voracious reader. Through my continuous reading and networking, I realized that I have a talent for helping others to achieve their goals. Through this discovery, I became an event promoter of local Atlanta talent (poets, singers, rappers, dancers, etc.). In 1995, I started a Talent Promotion company called Nico Don Projects.

This gave me a platform to manage artists, promote local events and host my own events, and allowed me to host other promoters’ events. I realized that I had a great ability to speak to crowds. Nico Don Projects went on to manage a singing group known as Slick & Rose (an R&B, Soul duo). We toured the Blue Note Cafe in Japan during the early 2000’s and released their debut album, Objects in the Mirror, in 2003. By 2005, I dissolved the business due to lack of revenue. For the next several years I struggled to manage my credit and finances and ended up back in the workforce full-time.

In 2015, I found myself living in Austin, Texas making much more money than I was making in Atlanta, and I decided to purchase my first rental property. That proved to be a successful venture, and led to more rental property purchases. Fast forward to 2018, my wife and I started a real estate investment company called, 555 Equity, LLC. We purchase distressed properties, rehabilitate them and rent them out to good families. The success of our real estate investing business attracts lots of people to us that are seeking real estate investing mentoring. As a result, I authored a book in 2018 titled, PROVEN PATHWAYS TO WEALTH & HAPPINESS, which was released December 11, 2018.

As I started promoting the book in Fall 2018, many people were reaching out for more mentoring and guidance on how to improve their finances, their credit and/or how to become a real estate investor. I decided to re-open Nico Don Projects as a financial literacy, mentoring, education and speaking engagement company. Now, I am hired as a speaker, through Nico Don Projects, to help people from all walks of life find financial freedom.

As of January 2019, I am the Owner of Nico Don Projects, I am the Senior Managing Partner for 555 Equity, LLC, and I am the General Partner of Credit Restoration Mentors (a credit repair and education company).

The way I see it, all of these businesses support each other. As people need the basics to help them shift their mindset from the ‘scarcity mindset’ of lack and limits, to the ‘abundance mindset’ which attracts more favorable things to our lives, they can seek mentoring from Nico Don Projects. Some will need help addressing credit issues and Credit Restoration Mentors will aide them in the improvement of their credit challenges. From there, if one should desire to pursue financial freedom through real estate investing, 555 Equity LLC can coach, mentor and support their advancement in this area.

Each business allows me to continue helping people and watch LIVES GET TRANSFORMED RIGHT BEFORE MY EYES!

Has it been a smooth road?
Not at all! Over a 20-year period, there were plenty of days that I was homeless, hungry, depressed and selfish. My credit score was as low as 500, I lived paycheck to paycheck and struggled to even pay my child support for a short period of time.

Even as things got better, I still ended up filing bankruptcy in 2008 and battled to get my credit to a respectable score.

By 2012, it started coming together.

Nico Don Projects – This is a mentoring company that focuses on inspiring and educating people towards achieving their financial goals. This is accomplished through speaking engagements, educational materials, and one-on-one or group mentoring sessions.

I am most proud of writing, publishing and releasing our first book, PROVEN PATHWAYS TO WEALTH & HAPPINESS (which can be purchased on Amazon or Barnes & Nobles online).

Our company is different because we will take the time to personalize our coaching to assist our clients with their specific challenges. In addition, we are available to coach our clients nationwide, not just in the DFW market. Our company will travel to other cities to coach team members at companies, groups, and organizations that seek enhance the ‘leadership skills’ of their staff and/or students.

Lastly, we have the resources and nimbleness to provide credit repair and education, or real estate investing mentoring, through our affiliates.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the diversity and growth of Dallas, especially all of the recent activities happening in and around far North Dallas.

As with all growing cities, the traffic is a pain but that means we are a thriving metropolis.
