Today we’d like to introduce you to Monique Martinez.
Monique, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Oh, where to even start. Okay— so growing up I modeled here and there as a child, as well as participated in a pageant or two. I ended up doing a few more photo shoots and did my first ever video shoot back in 2010. It wasn’t until I was wardrobe styling for Toni & Guy’s creative team here in Dallas that I got more into the scene.
One day I was asked by one of the artists and creative directors to model and I never really stopped— this was back in 2015! I had discovered a new found love for bringing ideas and visions to life! I loved every aspect of the creative process, and I made it a goal of mine to continue to grow in my craft! I am so happy and proud of how much I’ve grown, and how far I’ve come!
I will actually be launching some of the modeling merchandise I’ve been working on fairly soon, and I’m very excited to share it with everyone, as well as excited to see where my modeling will take me in the next few years! Lots of great things to come so stay tuned! I love and appreciate the undoing support I receive. I’m so blessed with the greatest support team!
Has it been a smooth road?
I wish I could say yes! That’d make it easy huh? Sadly no, it was not always a smooth road. I had a few toxic people in my life that tried to push and keep me down. Belittle my work and vision— did everything they possibly could to shrink my ambition or knock me off track, but I didn’t allow it. I am human, so naturally, I had my weak days. Days where I felt defeated and I let them win battles, but overall I won the war. I’m a warrior, and I fought for my voice— for my confidence. I use and wear it proudly!
We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I am a local model! I love to help brands and artists bring their vision to life as well as market myself and my talents! I think what sets me apart from everyone else is my ambition. We all want it differently, and I feel as if this passion burns so deep I ignite a way for others, and that makes me so very proud. I love that my craft inspires others and that I’m able to help them in any way I can! It’s actually inspired me to become a creative consultant in the future! So be on the lookout for that!
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see myself consulting and helping other aspiring models and creatives! I see myself owning a studio for artists to rent out for projects. I see myself traveling more! I see myself being very happy and continuously growing! Big shifts and changes for sure, but only in the best ways!
